International Tribute to Murray Bookchin

July 30 will mark the 20th anniversary of Murray Bookchin’s death. He was known as a pioneer of the environmental movement, a political theorist, and a visionary of a future society based on a confederation of free communes—one that rejects all forms of domination and enables a fruitful coexistence with nature.

On Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., we would like to pay tribute to this exceptional man, his life, and his work. The Netzwerk für Kommunalismus therefore invites you to a memorial ceremony at the Museum of Capitalism, Köpenicker Str. 172, in Berlin. Prominent figures from the social ecology movement will deliver brief speeches (online), including some of Bookchin’s fellow activists.

You can participate in the event online; you’ll find the link here: https://kommunalismus.org/?page_id=879

The event will be held primarily in German and English.
