Illustrated reading of the work of Murray Bookchin – 📽️ What is social ecology?
Social ecology views our society as a connected and diverse whole. By extending the concept of ecology to the social, Murray Bookchin makes it a decisive tool for analyzing the complex and interlinked relationships of domination in our capitalist modernity. As a theoretical weapon, social ecology also makes it possible to develop a society liberated from all authorities and all domination, a libertarian ecological society.
Largely unknown in France, Murray Bookchin (1921–2006) is a libertarian American author who is fundamental to our era and has already influenced numerous international struggles, particularly in Rojava. He also developed the idea of libertarian municipalism (or communalism) as a model for an ecological society, emancipated from capitalism and the state. This video is an interpretation of a large part of the book, from which Guillaume Deloison has cut some parts (which he considered less fundamental) to reduce the length of the video.
