On consenting to the crushing of Gaza
While avoiding getting carried away by anger which, in these circumstances, would nevertheless be perfectly legitimate, this book by Didier Fassin makes its mark. Based on irrefutable facts and testimonies whose veracity is easily verifiable, it is indeed the ignominy of the present times that is brought to light here. Not only the mass crime targeting not a terrorist group but the entire Palestinian population, but also the monstrous complicity in this extermination of a large number of Western leaders and the media that support them.
By claiming to silence all dissenting voices under various pretexts and false claims, these Western leaders and spokesmen clearly illustrate the totalitarian shift of which they are the direct representatives and the form of “society” they claim to impose.
This collapse of conscience is not so strange when we consider that they are the agents of a capitalism in dire straits, ready to do anything to survive, even to the point of selling out any trace of humanity.
It is quite likely that in view of this sinister episode in contemporary history and a few others that are a little less visible, a new Malthusianism is taking hold, condoning the annihilation of entire sections of the population considered “useless” or superfluous by the ideologues of capitalist society and opening up, so to speak, new territories of profit for them.
That is why, by reversing the meaning of words and the essential values of humanity, they are trying to establish this thought police that George Orwell anticipated in his 1984.
It is therefore particularly important at the moment to speak out, if only to avoid being complicit in these criminal acts, to be able to preserve a future for humanity itself and not to accompany it in its renunciation.
